Audemars Piguet is known for its highly sought-after luxury watches, and one of the brand’s most iconic features is its distinctive dial tapisserie. The tapisserie is a type of pattern that is created by a series of small, precisely-cut lines that form a geometric design. This unique dial design has become a signature feature of Audemars Piguet watches, and it’s one of the reasons why the brand has become so famous. The tapisserie is crafted by highly skilled artisans and it’s a true representation of the brand’s precision and attention to detail. The new Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak watch will be introducing a new type of tapisserie dial design which will be a combination of old and new, this will make it even more iconic.
We described the Tapisserie differences in the comparison between the Royal Oak and Royal Oak offshore models.
The latest version of Audemars Piguet’s popular Royal Oak model Ref. 26730BC.GG.1320BC.01, the Selfwinding Flying tourbillon, features a unique new dimpled texture on its Tapisserie dial in a striking blue and white color scheme. The watch is made of 18-carat white gold, including the case and bracelet, with a frosted octagonal bezel. The front and back are protected by glare-proof sapphire crystal, and the crown is screw-locked, as with other Royal Oak models. The watch is powered by a self-winding Calibre 2950 movement with a central rotor, and is rated for water resistance of 50 meters and can retain a power reserve of up to 65 hours when fully wound. It comes in white gold or rose gold.
Both watches are identical in design with the only difference being the use of white gold in one and rose gold in the other. The dials of the watches are unique, with a dimpled texture and circular brushed finishes that reflect light in an intriguing way. They resemble the dial textures of Grand Seiko but lack the inspiration from nature. The hour markers on these fresh dials are golden and the standout feature, the Flying Tourbillon, is prominently displayed at 6 o’clock.
The watches have the familiar design elements one would expect from the collection, such as 41mm diameter cases that blend seamlessly into integrated bracelets and octagonal bezels with frosted gold finishes. The watches embody luxury sports aesthetic in its highest form. Both versions are powered by the Calibre 2950, an automatic movement featuring hours, minutes and a flying tourbillon. They also feature a great power reserve of 65 hours.
Audemars Piguet has a long history of refining and improving their designs while remaining true to their core ideologies. They consistently push the boundaries of what is possible with their timepieces while staying true to their commitment to luxury, precision, and craftsmanship.
